So, I was off for a week because our oldest daughter and her boyfriend were home for a visit. Loved seeing them, really. However, some things never change. She's still a slob. I don't even want to know what her apartment looks like because she constantly left a trail of everything behind her. Our 13 year old is neater! I mean, when your teen is saying, "MOM, she's making my room a mess", there are issues. I was having flashbacks to her teen years where she'd sneak downstairs in the middle of the night to get food (like we didn't feed her), only to find the bowls, cups and papertowels in the closet or under the bed. All I can say is, I'm looking VERY forward to her having her own daughter and the inevitable phone call saying, "I don't know how you did it Mom." I can dream, right? Still, love her and glad I got to see her.
Fast foward to this morning and I wake up to a freaking skating rink outside the house. Of course I'm up at the crack-o-dawn so school closings and working closings usually aren't listed. So, I drank my coffee and got ready for work. Just as I'm getting ready to leave we get a 2 hour delay. Um....you didn't know an hour ago that it was slicker than snot outside? I waited a few hours and then dragged my ass into work. Good thing is, it's a short day now and I work from home tomorrow.
